TST has joined forces with Duchy College to offer students Programme led Apprenticeships.
This programme led apprenticeship approach requires apprentices to undertake a National Vocational
Qualification at Level 2 within their chosen career pathway. Apprentices are also required to
undertake Key Skills. The Key Skills will be determined by the Awarding Body they include;
Communication, Application of Number, Information Technology, Problem Solving, Improving Own Learning
Performance and Working with Others.
Some Land-based Apprenticeships require the apprentice to undertake technical certificates. These are
qualifications that underpin the knowledge and understanding of the NVQ.
Students wanting to undertake an Apprenticeship should be able to demonstrate that they are:
- Committed to a career in their chosen industry.
- Able to take responsibility for their own learning and development.
- Be prepared to attend off the job training.
- Able to acquire the broad range of skills, knowledge and understanding required in the
apprenticeship.
- Able to progress..
The average duration of a Level 2 Apprenticeship is 18 months.
