TST offers the National Open College Network Foundation & Intermediate Awards in Careers Education & Preparation for Working Life to all work experience students.

This Educational programme is available to all students undertaking work experience. The course comprises of five units:

  • The Changing World of Work.
  • Career Education & Management.
  • Work Related Aspects of Citizenship.
  • Work Based Placement.
  • Financial Literacy & Money Management.

One externally set assignment based around reviewing the world of work in the twenty first century.

The level of the award being undertaken - Foundation or Intermediate, will be determined by guidance from the referring body in conjunction with the student.

Each unit represents 30 hours with the overall programme representing a 150 hours. Individual units can be accredited.

TST strives to provide work experience students with the opportunity to gain skills and knowledge within the landbased sector that will give them the hands on practical skills needed to enter the world of work or undertake additional specialised training.
